Sena is currently the Communications Director for FloridaWest, responsible for the messaging and maintaining cooperative relationships with elected officials, media and community representatives and business leaders. Along with creating marketing and promotional materials, Sena develops long-term communication strategies to increase visibility and provide information to stakeholders and the public.

Since she started as a radio announcer at the age of 15, Sena has had many different roles in the media as an on-air personality, advertising copywriter, radio and television producer, journalist and magazine editor. Moving to Pensacola in 2007, she held the position of Executive Producer at News Radio 1620 from sign on until she joined the Sheriff David Morgan’s staff when he took office in January 2009. At the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Sena served as the as a Public Relations Coordinator and Protocol Officer for four years and then took on the role of Public Information Officer in 2013. For her service, she was awarded the ECSO Medal of Commendation for her work with the media during the 2009 Billings Double Homicide Investigation as well as a Medal of Meritorious Service for media and community relations.

Sena earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Education from the University of South Alabama in 1996, and she spent several years in the Mobile County Public School system as a Language Arts teacher. She is also a graduate of the Protocol School of Washington. Sena serves on the executive board of FavorHouse and is a graduate of the Leadership Pensacola Class of 2011. In 2019, Sena served on Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson’s Transition Team, researching Transparency, authoring a Mayoral Transition Report on transparency, public information and information accessibility for the City of Pensacola.

ITEN WIRED: GROWING THE CYBER COAST

ITEN (Innovation, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Network) WIRED Summit is the Southeast’s premier cybersecurity and IT conference to connect, collaborate and build community with industry leaders, entrepreneurs and educators on innovation, technology and entrepreneurship topics.

The three-day event highlights the area’s cybersecurity, information technology and entrepreneurial communities and explores emerging technology and innovators in start-up tech, artificial intelligence, robotics, and emerging technologies on the national scene.

The summit, which began as an economic development initiative in 2008 by the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, is now hosted by IT Gulf Coast.

ITEN WIRED is a not-for-profit, technology-focused conference.  Proceeds from the event are used to support IT Gulf Coast's local STEM initiatives, including endowments to the University of West Florida and Pensacola State College.

The next ITEN WIRED Summit will take place on October 18-20, 2023.
