Special Agent Supervisor (SAS) Molly Akin has been employed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for over twenty years. SAS Akin has served approximately fifteen years of her career specializing in cybercrime investigations and digital forensics. SAS Akin currently supervises the FDLE Pensacola Regional Operations Center (PROC) Cyber High Tech Crime Unit. Her squad conducts criminal investigations which includes Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), business email compromise scams, and network intrusions. SAS Akin is the current State Chair over the Regional Domestic Security Task Force (RDSTF), Cyber Terrorism Focus Group. SAS Akin also coordinates the RDSTF Region 1 Cyber Group, which meets quarterly to discuss cyber trends and other cyber-related matters impacting Northwest Florida.

SAS Akin holds a bachelors degree in criminology from The Florida State University and a masters of digital forensics from the University of Central Florida. Her certifications include: CompTia A+, Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Specialist (SCERS), EnCase Certified Examiner, International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), Berla Vehicle Forensics, Cellebrite CCLO/CCPA, and MSAB XRY. SAS Akin is also a certified instructor for the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, specializing in defensive tactics.
