I spend 82.25 percent of my time thinking about, proving concepts, writing about, talking about and implementing solutions for SQL Server technologies. I have an affinity for HADR, Reporting, BI, data analysis, SQL internals, capacity planning, architecture, virtualization, performance tuning and optimization and aggregations. The other 22 percent of my time I spend working on how to make accurate percentages. I work from home out of my Office Del Castillo. I am an author, sometimes-blogger and presenter on SQL technologies. I am happily back in Pensacola from Orlando, where the traffic was miserable.

Data, Data Everywhere, a lot of it is Free

Presentation Summary:  This session focuses on the techniques to discover, retrieve, extract, import, shape, model and analyze the tons of free and interesting data available in the wild. From daily NYC subway turnstile date to coastal accident statistics gathered by the Coast Guard, this data is just waiting to be loaded into your favorite analytics tools like Power BI Desktop or Jupyter Notebooks to yield interesting and often unexpected results.
