Pensacola Company Creates Technology That Could Impact Nations Energy Supply

New technology being developed by a Pensacola company could advance the way oil is moved from the Gulf of Mexico and other ultra-deepwater fields around the world. DeepGulf, Inc. has created innovative technology collectively known as J-Flex. J-Flex, for the first time, enables access beyond traditional offshore frontiers of oil and gas pipeline operation to deep and ultra deep reserves. Access to these reserves, previously limited by the economics of transporting oil and natural gas, could significantly increase domestic oil production.

DeepGulf, Inc. is in the business of building underwater pipelines and associated facilities in deep and ultra-deep offshore oil and gas production fields, primarily in the Gulf of Mexico. DeepGulf's proprietary J-Flex 3600 marine pipe lay system, with its 3,000 ton tensioning capacity, is capable of laying 36 inch pipelines in the deepest waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
